Privacy Policy for AgriVerse

This Privacy Policy explains how the AgriVerse app ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the application. The project is primarily intended for learning and demonstration purposes, and we do not use your data for marketing or advertising.

1. Information We Collect

Based on the current version of the AgriVerse demo code, the app only collects the minimum information needed to provide core features such as login, weather, AI guidance, and plant diagnosis.

When you use the app, the following data may be processed:

  • Account information – your email address and an optional display name when you sign up or log in using Firebase Authentication. Your password is handled securely by Firebase and is not visible to us.
  • Approximate location – accessed only when you request weather or crop‑recommendation features. The app uses your location to call a weather API and does not store long‑term location history.
  • Camera images – plant photos you capture inside the app to receive AI‑based plant health feedback. Images are processed to generate the result and are not used by us for any other purpose.
  • Microphone audio and speech text – audio is used by the device and speech‑recognition service to convert your voice commands into text for the in‑app assistant. We do not record or keep a copy of the raw audio.
  • Demo / test data you type – in some sample screens used for educational purposes you may enter values like a name, email, or simple academic details. These are stored only in Firebase services to demonstrate functionality and are not used to build a marketing profile.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the core features of AgriVerse.
  • Personalize content or recommendations where applicable.
  • Monitor performance, fix bugs, and improve stability and security.
  • Communicate with you about updates, support, and important notices.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms of use.

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only in the following situations:

  • Service providers that help us run the app (for example, hosting, analytics, authentication, or push notifications) and are bound by contracts to protect your data.
  • Legal requirements when we are required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
  • Business transfers if APP_NAME is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, where data may be transferred as part of that process.

  • Disable permissions such as location, camera, or microphone via device settings.

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
